Gegenstand dieser IDC Studie ist die Beurteilung der Anbieter von SaaS- und Cloud-fähigen ContentAnwendungen für Unternehmen mit Stand 2019 anhand des IDC MarketScape-Modells auf weltweiter Ebene. In diese Beurteilung fließen sowohl quantitative als auch qualitative Merkmale von CloudContent-Management-Applikationen ein. Besonders berücksichtigt wurden dabei Planungs-, Budgetierungs- und Prognoseaufgaben, die in einem globalen Umfeld typischerweise das Management und die Verarbeitung von Content unterstützen. Grundlage dieser Beurteilung ist ein umfassender und strikter Rahmen, anhand dessen die einzelnen Anbieter in Bezug auf verschiedene Kriterien und im Vergleich zu den anderen Anbietern bewertet werden. Als Voraussetzung galt nicht nur, dass die Content-Anwendung in einer Cloud-Umgebung läuft, sondern auch die Vorteile der Cloud-Konstruktionen wie regionsübergreifende Daten- und Prozessorchestrierung, Skalierung und Elastizität in Bezug auf Benutzer und Daten, verteilter Agilität mit Edge Computing sowie Self-ServiceEinkauf und -Bereitstellung von Modulen nutzt.
